LA CAMPAGNARDE

On the outskirts of a small village in Picardy, 1km from the A1, Europe's busiest motorway, the truck stop La Campagnarde welcomes drivers around the clock. A waystation where roads cross paths, it's a place to eat, drink, and sleep. Sammy has been running La Campagnarde for 20 years. A boss attentive to the wellbeing of both his employees and his customers worn out by the road, he listens, welcomes, cares for people, and does everything he can to keep the business afloat. Around him, the team is holding steady, but the future raises questions. Geneviève is getting ready to retire, Vincent must take over from his father Sylvain in the kitchen, while Johnny, seeking independence, is preparing for his driving test. At a time when old-style truck stops are disappearing, La Campagnarde and its people are resisting the transformations underway across Europe.
